July 3 Killarney, Ireland - concert at Ireland's National Event Centre. "Bouquets and red roses thrown onto the stage by adoring aficionados capped a memorable performance by Jose Carreras." wrote The Irish Examiner.

July 11 Calella de Palafrugell, Spain - open air concert with Lluis Llach at the Jardins de Cap Roig Festival. The concert had been postponed from the previous day due to torrential rains. Llach and Carreras concluded the concert with several encores demanded by "the wildly applauding audience" wrote Antoni Sandoval in La Vanguardia.

July 16 Bologna, Italy - performance of the Misa Criolla with the Coral Salvé de Laredo and the Grupo Alturas in the Teatro Manzoni "A great success with a standing ovation at the end" wrote the critic from Gli Amici della Musica. In the photo (right) Carreras poses backstage with the members of Grupo Alturas. He returned to Italy on July 25 to accept the Chiavi d'Oro di Villa Fedora prize at the grand finale of the Festival Giordano in Baveno. The prize is presented annually to an outstanding singer of Giordano's works.

July 24 Regensburg, Germany - open-air concert in the Castle of Thurn und Taxis.  In the photo (right) Carreras accepts the thanks of Princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis following the concert.

August 20 Ciociaria (Provincia di Frosinone), Italy - outdoor concert on the grounds of the Abbazia di Casamari  with soprano Natalia Margarit and the National Orchestra of the Ukraine conducted by David Gimenez.

August 22 Rimini, Italy - Inaugural Concert of the 2004 'Meeting'. José Carreras (tenor), Franco Branciaroli (narrator), Lorenzo Bavaj (piano), The Trio Matisse (strings). A pre-concert interview published in L'Avvenire (right) was widely quoted in the Roman Catholic press.

September 11 Calella de Palafrugell, Spain - celebrates the wedding of his son Albert. In the photo, left to right, are Albert's mother Mercedes Perez, Albert, his bride Ingrid, his sister Julia, and his father Josep Carreras.
September 12-19 Navarra, Spain - Honorary President of the Concurso Internacional de Canto Julián Gayarre. In the photo (right), Carreras with this year's winners, tenor Jorge Luis de León and soprano Tina Gorina.

September 17 Ponta Delgada (Azores), Portugal - concert to inaugurate the new Teatro Micaelense with David Gimenez conducting the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa. Tickets sold out almost immediately to this charity concert which was also broadcast on a giant television screen outside the theatre. The photo (right) shows Carreras at the pre-concert press conference.

September 22 Budapest, Hungary - Gala Concert with pianist Lorenzo Bavaj, the Nuovo Quartetto Italiano, and soprano Pitti Katalin in the Erkel Színház theatre.

September 25 Skive, Denmark -  concert at the Limfjord Kulturcenter. The Skive Folkeblad reported that some  fans had travelled all the way from Japan just to see the concert.
