July 9 Bristol, UK - outdoor concert on the grounds of Clifton College with soprano Tina Gorina and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by David Giménez. The Bristol Evening Post described Carreras' performance as "outstanding" and went on to say, "His duets with soprano Tina Gorina were particularly well received as their voices blended so well together." Miss Gorina (right) won First Prize at the 2004 Julian Gayarre Competition whose President is José Carreras.  She sang with him in the Dubai concert (March 2005) and at the Ohrid Festival in Macedonia on July 12, 2005.

July 12 Lake Ohrid, Macedonia - opening concert of the Ohrid Summer Festival with soprano Tina Gorina and the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by David Giménez. The presidents of Macedonia, Albania, and Bulgaria were amongst the audience of 2500 in in the city's ancient Roman amphitheatre

July 18 Cagliari (Sardinia), Italy - concert in the Roman Amphitheatre (photo right) with pianist Lorenzo Bavaj and the Nuovo Quartetto Italiano before a sold-out crowd of 4000. "Once again he displayed his great mastery of singing, communicating an avalanche of emotions with his sunny, unmistakable voice," wrote the critic from Gli Amici della Musica.

July 21 Imola, Italy - concert in the Piazza Matteotti in aid of the Imola Alzheimer's Project.  On the afternoon before the concert Carreras laid the foundation stone for the Casa Alzheimer which the city is constructing to care for patients with the disease. The photo (right) shows Carreras laying the stone while the Mayor of Imola, Massimo Marchignoli, applauds.

July 24 Liverpool, UK - concert in the Big Top Arena with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra with David Giménez conducting. The critic from The Liverpool Daily Post, while noting the standing ovation from the audience, found the repertoire of Spanish songs (with no translations provided) somewhat disappointing.

August 3 Ayamonte (Huelva), Spain - sell-out recital with Lorenzo Bavaj in the Teatro Cardenio  as part of the XXIII Festival de Ayamonte. In the photo (right) Carreras and Bavaj acknowledge the standing ovation from the audience.

August 6 Spoleto, Italy - concert with soprano Roberta Canzian and pianist Lorenzo Bavaj in the Piazza Duomo as part of 'Spoleto Estate 2005' The critic in Il Tempo wrote that Carreras' programme of Neapolitan songs was a 'triumph'.

August 21 Calella de Palafrugell, Spain - recital in the Festival Jardins de Cap Roig with pianist Lorenzo Bavaj. The open-air concert had been postponed from the previous day due to torrential rains. Despite the still menacing skies on the 21st, the weather held out for an audience which included Carreras' family and his friend and fellow tenor, Jaume Aragall. "But when one sings like Carreras, the wrath of the gods is appeased and in the end the stars come out" wrote Jaume Radigales in La Vanguardia.

September 7 Barcelona, Spain - visits young patients awaiting a bone marrow transplant in the Hospital Materno-Infantil with Barcelona soccer star Victor Valdés, who has lent his support to the bone marrow donation drive of the Fundación Internacional Josep Carreras.

September 8 Munich, Germany - press conference in the Four Seasons Hotel to thank the donors and sponsors of the German branch of the José Carreras International Leukemia Foundation which is celebrating its 10th Anniversary.  Since its establishment in 1995, the
Deutsche José Carreras Leukämie-Stiftung
has raised over $115 million for leukemia research and the care of patients and their families.

September 9 Munich, Germany -  concert in the Herkulessaal der Münchner Residenz with Spanish soprano Ofelia Sala, pianist Lorenzo Bavaj, and the piano trio Six Hands to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Deutsche José Carreras Leukämie-Stiftung  The private concert was attended by supporters of the foundation, leukemia patients, and prominent personalities from German social, cultural and political life. September 10 Munich, Germany - meets with the supporters and organizers of 'Stars and Kids on Tour'. The group are performing in a nine-city concert tour this autumn to raise money for the Deutsche José Carreras Leukämie-Stiftung. In the photo (right) taken at Munich airport, Carreras signs a metal sculpture of a cow which will be auctioned off in the city of Köthen, the last stop on the tour. The proceeds of the Köthen charity auction will go to his Foundation as well.

September 11 Barcelona, Spain -  accompanied by the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona, Carreras sings 'L'emigrant' at the Diada Nacional de Catalunya ceremonies.

September 16 Jaén, Spain - recital with pianist Lorenzo Bavaj in the Auditorio de La Alameda. The sold-out  recital opened the VI edition of the Festival de Otoño de Jaén. For some inexplicable reason, the photo (right) which accompanied the Jaén press coverage was taken  last February at the opening of Ottimo restaurant in Barcelona.

September 25 Busan, Korea - concert in the KBS Hall. The Korean tour had kicked off  two days earlier with a press interview (photo) and continued with concerts in Daegu at the Daegu Exhibition & Convention Center on September 27 and in Seoul at the Seoul Arts Centre on September 30.
