October 4 Singapore - press conference at the start of a three concert tour to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the city's Victoria Concert Hall.

October 16 Hangzhou, China - concert in the Huanglong Sports Center Stadium with David Giménez conducting. The local press reported that only about one third of the seats were sold and some spectators, while praising Carreras, said they thought the concert would have been better performed in a theatre without electronic amplification.

October 19 Shenzen, China - concert in the Shenzen Stadium with David Giménez conducting. The local press reported that the concert was warmly received, with the audience demanding four encores. Carreras pronounced it one of his most satisfying concerts in China.

October 23 Nagoya, Japan - the first of four performances of the
Misa Criolla in aid of the Japan Bone Marrow Donor Program and the José Carreras International Leukaemia Foundation. Further performances took place on October 26 in Osaka, October 29 in Yokohama and November 1 in Tokyo. Carreras' stay in Japan concluded on November 5 with a recital in Tokyo's Suntory Hall, accompanied by pianist Lorenzo Bavaj.

November 8 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - concert in the Plenary Hall with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by David Giménez. "The 58-year old native from Barcelona lit up the night with his rich lyrical voice during his two-hour performance in front of more than 2,000 people," wrote Jason Cheah in The Malaysia Star.

December 5 Happy Birthday Maestro Carreras!
December 15 Lepzig, Germany - 11th Annual José Carreras Leukemia Benefit Gala raises $6.8 million to aid leukemia patients and their families and to fund research into the treatment of the disease. Among the guests appearing were Elton John (with whom Carreras sang a duet), Liza Minelli, Hayley Westenra and Peter Maffay.

December 19 Moscow, Russia - concert in the Kremlin with soprano Maria Guleghina, The Mendelev Institute Choir and the Ministry of Defense Symphony Orchestra, David Giménez and Valery Khalilov conducting.
