July 3 Bucharest, Romania - concert in the Parliamentary Palace.with soprano Alexandra Coman and the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by David Giménez. The concert was part of a Charity Gala Dinner in aid of United Way and the José Carreras International Leukemia Foundation. The photo (right), shows Carreras arriving in Bucharest on July 2nd.

September 5 Karlstad, Sweden - concert at the Värmland Classic Festival with soprano Maria Fontosh and the Värmlandsoperans Sinfonietta conducted by David Giménez. As he left Karlstad the following day, he spoke briefly to the press (photo, right) to pay tribute to his friend and colleague, Luciano Pavarotti who died in Modena on September 6, 2007.

September 6 Cologne, Germany - visits the Universitätsklinikum and meets with patients. The hospital is also the site of the "José Carreras Tagesklinik", a unit where leukemia patients can be treated on an out-patient basis and receive pyschological help in coping with their illness and treatment.

September 8 Bonn, Germany - open air concert in the city's Museumsplatz with the Neuen Philharmonie Frankfiurt conducted by David Giménez. Carreras dedicated the concert to the memory of Luciano Pavarotti.

September 27 Barcelona, Spain - sold-out concert in the Gran Teatre del Liceu to inaugurate the IESE Global Alumni Reunion. The entire proceeds from the concert, which also featured pianist Lorenzo Bavaj and the Nuovo Quartetto Italiano, went to the José Carreras International Leukaemia Foundation.
