October 11 Shanghai, China - performance of 'Friends for Life' ('Amigos Para Siempre') with Chinese soprano Liu Lian at the Closing Ceremony of the 2007 Special Olympics. In the photo (right) Carreras during a news conference in Shanghai on October 9th, where he said "I am very happy to be involved in this special occasion and spend a joyful night with these courageous athletes. What excellent people they are."

October 12 Shanghai, China - concert in the Shanghai Grand Theatre. In the photo (right), Carreras acknowledges the audience's applause at the finale of the concert.

October 20 Baku, Azerbaijan - concert with the Nuovo Quartetto Italiano in the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.  The concert in aid of the José Carreras International Leukemia Foundation coincided with the opening of a new Chopard boutique in Baku. In the photo (right) Carreras and Sevil Aliyeva, the sister of the Azerbaijani President at the boutique's opening on October 19th.

October 28 Tokyo, Japan - recital in the Suntory Hall with pianist Lorenzo Bavaj. The Japan tour continued with a second performance in the Suntory Hall on October 31. The concert, José Carreras sings Belle Epoque, was in aid of  the Japan Marrow Donor Program and the José Carreras International Leukemia Foundation

October 29 Tokyo, Japan - opens the Chopard Ginza Flagship Store with leading Japanese actress, Ayako Kawahara (photo, right).

November 3 Kanazawa, Japan - Belle Epoque concert in the Ishikawa Kenritsu Ongakudo Concert Hall with pianist Lorenzo Bavaj and the Nuovo Quartetto Italiano. On November 6 Carreras gave an extra concert in Nagoya to celebrate the completion of Fujita Health University's new medical school building. In the photo (right), Carreras poses during an interview in Nagoya. The Japan tour concluded on November 10 in Osaka with a Belle Epoque concert in the city's Symphony Hall

November 14 Seoul, South Korea - concert in the Seoul Arts Center, with soprano Mi-hae Park, David Giménez conducting

November 18  Kaohsiung, Taiwan - the Taiwan tour begins with a concert in the Kaohsiung Cultural Center. Further concerts took place on November 20 in Tainan at the city's Cultural Centre; 
November 22
in Taichung at the Hui-Sun Hall, National Chung Hsing University; and November 24 in Taipei at the Taipei Arena, all conducted by David Giménez. The final concert also feautred guest singers Karen Mok and Wu Bai.

November 26  Barcelona, Spain - receives one of annual Premio Protagionista awards at a dinner in the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya. Carreras' award was in recognition of his artistic career and humanitarian work. Other recipients included Pasqual Maragall, the former President of Catalunya. In the photo (right) Carreras and his wife pose with his award.

December 13 Leipzig, Germany - the 13th annual José Carreras Gala on MDR television raises a record sum of 6.7 million Euro ($9.6 million) for leukemia research and help for patients and their families.

December 18 Rome, Italy - Christmas concert in the Auditorium Conciliazione with soprano Michela Sburlati and the Symphonica Toscanini, David Giménez conducting. The private concert organized by Finmeccanica was in aid of Casa di Andrea, a charity which trains and supports doctors performing as clowns in children's wards. In the photo (right), Carreras 'clowning around' with the doctors.
