July 6 Lingen, Germany - open-air concet in the Lingener Marktplatz. In the photo (right) Carreras on the big screen while concert-goers watch him on stage.

July 10 Monza, Italy - concert at the Villa Reale with soprano Valeria Esposito and the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Miguel Ortega. Proceeds from the concert went in part to the José Carreras' International Leukemia Foundation and the Fondazione San Raffaele del Monte Tabor di Milano in aid of stem cell research.

July 20 Timisoara, Romania - concert in the Strandul Tineretului with sopranos Sabina Puértolas and Alexandra Coman, David Giménez conducting. Following the concert interval, the Order of the Knights of Malta presented Carreras with the Order's Grand Medal of Merit for his artistic and humanitarian achievements (photo right).

August 7 Ibiza, Spain - Carreras takes time off from his busy concert schedule to attend jet-setter Magda Pozzo's birthday party (photo right). Pozzo's father is the owner of Udine, the Italian First Division football team.

September 7 Naples, Italy - concert in the Piazza del Plebiscito to inaugurate the Piedigrotta Festival with soprano Valeria Esposito and the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti conducted by David Giménez.
