October 24 East  Lansing, Michigan - recital in the Wharton Center Great Hall (Michigan State University). A further recital took place on October 29 in Cerritos, California.

December 3 Singapore - attends a cocktail reception to celebrate the grand opening of Chopard's new flagship boutique in Ngee Ann City. The Chopard  company and its President, Karl Scheufele, are long-time supporters of the José Carreras International Leukemia Foundation. December 29 Barcelona, Spain - Carreras and Lluís Llach in concert at the  Palau Sant Jordi with an audience of over 8000 people.  Said La Vanguardia, "The two singers turned their recital into a song against violence and for peace". (Los dos cantantes convirtieron el recital en un canto contra la violencia y por la paz")
