April 4 Spain. The children's CD Tabaluga viatja buscant el seny narrated by José Carreras with songs by Chris Juanico goes on sale. Proceeds from the record will benefit the José Carreras International Leukaemia Foundation and the Peter Maffay Foundation for abused children.
April 11 Spain. Junts - En directe, the live recording of the December 29, 2002 concert with Lluís Llach at the Palau Sant Jordi goes on sale. The photo (right) shows Carreras and Llach at the April 8, 2003 news conference announcing the release.
April 10-14 Busseto, Italy. This is Carreras's first year as the President of the Jury for the Concorso Voci Verdiane. On April 12, he was the guest of honour at a reception given by the Amici di Verdi. The photo (right) shows Carreras at the awards ceremony in the Teatro Verdi di Busseto on April 14th.
April 25 Vienna, Austria. Concert in the Wiener Konzerthaus with pianist Lorenzo Bavaj and the Ensemble Wien.

April 27 Seville, Spain. Recital in the Teatro de la Maestranza de Sevilla

May 12 Culiacán, Mexico. Benefit concert in the Teatro Pablo de Villavicencio with soprano Ana María González. The photo (right) was taken at the pre-concert press conference in Culiacán. Further concerts in the Mexico tour took place on

May 22-24 Participates in the Mille Miglia vintage car race in Italy as co-driver of a 1955 Mercedes 300 SL. The photo (right) shows Carreras at the race departure in Brescia.

May 27 Bilbao, Spain. Recital with pianist Lorenzo Bavaj in the Palacio Euskalduna. Carreras's last appearance in Bilbao was on the Bilbao opera stage in 1977. The photo (right) was taken at the pre-concert press conference.

June 17 Belgrade, Serbia. Gala concert with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, David Gimenez conducting in Belgrade's Sava Convention Hall to mark the 100th anniversary of world aviation. Proceeds of the concert benefitted the Belgrade Oncology Clinic.

June 23 Zaragoza, Spain. Recital with pianist Lorenzo Bavaj. In the photo (right) Carreras meets a young leukaemia patient during the interval. In a press conference earlier in the day, Alberto Larraz, the Councillor for Health and Social Services in Aragon and Carreras presented an accord between the government of Aragon and the Fundación Josep Carreras for the coordination and promotion of bone marrow donation in the region.
